AUSTSWIM Teacher PD Workshops – Embracing Diversity & Key Water Safety Messages

​This workshop will provide strategies on how to engage with new and emerging communities in your Swim Centre and will assist you in understanding the essential ingredients in celebrating diversity when teaching swimming and water safety to CALD communities.

Past participants have noted their key learning areas as - "the new terms of CALD", "what diversity is" "education of CALD communities begins before they get into the water", "the importance of back to basics for CALD", "new arrivals may not be aware of water safety but I take it for granted", "I need to mix up my teaching techniques", "changing up water safety, thinking differently", "different communication methods".
